The Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan scheme helps homeowners in Scotland pay for energy improvements. Funding is first come, first served, and you must get a written funding offer before any work starts.
- Up to £7,500 grant for heat pumps and biomass boilers, plus an optional £7,500 interest-free loan
- A £1,500 uplift for eligible remote rural, island and off-gas rural homes
- Installers and products must be MCS certified
What about infrared, batteries and solar?
Funding levels differ by measure, and the scheme’s rules change over time. Infrared heating is not listed among the main grant-funded measures, so please do not assume it is covered. For solar and battery support, check the latest terms directly with Home Energy Scotland before you commit.
